Welcome to summer, reporters! Today we have Teddy Maiorca back:

This week I have a document and data-sharing platform created by OCCRP - the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project. It helps reporters, as they say, “follow the money.”

Aleph is an open-source tool that gives reporters access to a trove of information that can be used to track assets, corporate ownership and government expenditures. It’s home to more than 250 public datasets ranging from court archives and financial records to leaked archives - even aircraft registries.

Journalists can also apply for free expanded access, and verified journalists can upload their own documents, extract text, sketch diagrams and more. With a variety of tools and features for investigative journalists, Aleph is one-stop-shopping for big projects. Follow that money, reporters!
