Urgent care for your urgent election needs
The Knight Election Hub is offering on-the-spot guidance and support
Well, we’re here, reporters! We made it out the other side of yet another contentious US election. For those of you with election fatigue, I 1000% understand. But I’m going to share one more - and then we’re moving on. I swear!
The Knight Election Hub is offering “urgent care” for reporters. It’s actually a Slack channel with over a hundred Knight staffers and others to talk to you about data, access, digital safety, ethics - basically anything along the lines of, “I am still here and reporting on the election!”
You do need to be a member of a nonpartisan newsroom to make use of the Election Urgent Care program. You can apply via this Google Form with a few simple entries like a link to your professional profile.
Shoutout to Knight and OpenNews for not just a useful support group but also one of the better tool names I’ve come across in recent years. And that was it - our last 2024 US election tool! At least I think so… I guess I can’t promise.
Next time we’ll have some new tools, and I have a big announcement for TFR that I am excited about! Keep an eye out, reporters!
