A techier way to find diverse sources
Balancing the voices in your story is definitely a good use of AI
Hello reporters! Today I’m going to talk about something close to my heart: finding and platforming diverse speakers and experts.
Rolli is a journalist-made tool (my favorite kind), and in a first for me at TFR: Rolli is sponsoring this post! They’re trying to reach as many journos as possible this election year, and that means you.
Rolli comes from rolodex, and it works AI into your searches for diverse experts. One of the current advantages to AI is that you can talk to it like you would a person, instead of just piling up keywords.
I've been musing on that notorious fake Biden voice for a while now, so I threw that in. Rolli impressed me with the quality and accuracy of the people it suggested. But - as with any AI tool - I strongly suggest you fact-check any content before reporting it to the public.
Rolli does charge for some services, but they do offer a free version for journalists. Let’s find and share some new voices, reporters!
